Huawei Honor Play 8A with Android 9.0 (Pie) announced, Price starts at 799 yuan (US$ 116)
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced its latest affordable smartphone Honor Play 8A in China at fixed schedule as stated recently. Since, the device had showed its name as Honor 8A in the press invites, but it has announced as Honor Play 8A.
The Huawei Honor Play 8A sports 6-inch HD+ 19:5:9 2.5D curved glass, waterdrop notch display with the resolution of 1560 x 720 pixels. It has 3GB RAM, 32GB / 64GB storage, which can be further expandable up to 512GB with microSD card slot.It has dual-SIM functionality, dimension 156.28×73.5×8.0mm; and weighs 150g.
It is armed with 2.3GHz Octa-Core (ARM Cortex A53) MediaTek Helio P35 12nm Processor with 680 MHz IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU and runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.0. It lacks of a fingerprint sensor, but it features face unlock .
The camera section of the device Huawei Honor Play 8A includes rear camera of 13MP with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture and a front-facing camera of 8MP with f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity wise, it features Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS and it is backed up by 3000mAh battery.
The Chinese users can get the device Huawei Honor Play 8A in Blue, Red, Gold and Black colors. The 32GB version is priced at 799 yuan (US$ 116 / Rs. 8,155 approx.) , while the 64GB storage version is tagged with the cost 999 yuan (US$ 145 / Rs. 10,195 approx.). The company will make it available in China from 9th January.
