Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 spotted at FCC, coming soon in the US
Samsung announced its latest rugged smartphone Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 earlier of this month at 259 Euros (US$ 272). It is the successor of the Samsung Galaxy XCover 3 that was launched in March, 2015.
Now the device Samsung Xcover 4 with model number SM-G390Y spotted at FCC, and has prepared for its launching in the US market.
The Xcover 4 received MIL-STD-810G certification and IP68 rating, which makes it water and dust proof resistant.
It is the successor of the Xcover 3 that was launched in March, 2015.
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 sports 4.99-inch HD display with the resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels, 2GB RAM, internal storage capacity of 16GB, which can be further expanded via microSD card slot. It is powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 processor and runs on Android 7.0. It has received IP68 certification, which makes it water and dust proof and also comes with US Military Standard MIL-STD 810G.
It features a rear camera of 13MP with LED Flash, f/1.9 aperture and a front-facing camera of 5MP. It is powered by a non removable 2800mAh battery.
Connectivity wise, it includes 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/GLONASS, NFC and also comes with a Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor.
Samsung designed this smartphone for rough and tough use in the situations like mountain climbing, for military personnel, kayaking etc.
The exact date of its launching still unconfirmed but it is expected that the device Xcover 4 is likely to launch in April of this year at the cost of €259.
It’s predecessor Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 sports a 4.5″ WVGA display with a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels, 1.5GB RAM, internal storage capacity of 8GB , which can be further expanded via a microSD card. It is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor and runs on Android OS, v4.4.4 (KitKat), and the company has planned upgrade to v5.0 (Lollipop) in near future. It is a single-SIM device which is powered by 2200mAh battery
The camera section of the device Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 packs a rear camera of 5MP and a front-facing camera of 2MP for capturing selfies.
Connectivity wise, it features Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC ,LTE connectivity and 3G and also includes Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
It is also certified by MIL-STD 810G, which protects it from salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistance. The Xcover 3 has also IP67 certifications, which protects it safely from dust and makes it, survive in 1m-deep fresh water for half an hour.
